Inverter pool heat pump Hewalex PCWBi-C

The PCWBi 7.0kW-C air-to-water heat pump is designed for direct connection to the pool water process circuit. It is used to heat the water as well as to cool it if necessary.

A distinguishing feature of the units is the infinitely variable regulation of heating power thanks to the inverter compressor.

The heating output range of the PCWBi 7.0kW-C heat pump, depending on the operating point, is 2.0-7.0 kW for A27/W26 (according to EN 14511, air 27°C, water temperature 26°C) or 1.1-5.0 kW for A15/W26 (according to EN 14511 air 15°C, water temperature 26°C).

Hot water whatever the weather

PCWBi heat pumps are used for seasonal water heating in both private and semi-public pools. The use of a heat pump can extend the life of an outdoor swimming pool by up to 5-6 months a year, providing the required water temperature at low operating costs..

The PCWBi heat pump can be used for any type of swimming pool, whether it is of solid construction or for a frame pool, inflatable pool, etc.

Differences between PCWBi-B and PCWBi-C heat pumps

Hewalex offers two ranges of inverter pool heat pumps: PCWBi-B and PCWBi-C. The two models differ not only in appearance and colour, but also in key design features.

PCWBi-B heat pumps are equipped with Mitsubishi compressors. In addition, the way the air is ejected from the fan to the side and from underneath, contributes to the reduced noise during operation. Due to these design differences, PCWBi-B heat pumps are some of the quietest units of their type on the market.

PCWBi-C heat pumps, on the other hand, are equipped with Gree compressors and have a standard air discharge.

Savings associated with heat pump heating:

The electricity consumption of a heat pump heating pool water will be on average 5-6 times lower compared to an electric heater. With a pool heat pump COP efficiency of 6, only 1 kWh of electricity is consumed to generate 6 kWh of heat. For an average sized swimming pool with a capacity of 20 m³, we need to supply around 900 kWh of heat energy per summer month to maintain the required pool water temperature.

In a hydronic system, the heat pump must be located between the filter and any pool water treatment unit. In addition, it must be connected on a bypass to regulate the flow through the heat pump. The water flow rate through the pool heat pump is regulated by a valve at the inlet to the unit and a valve on the bypass. The bypass valves are mandatory and are used to disconnect the heat pump from the system for cleaning the filter system and to empty the heat pump of water for the winter period.

To ensure optimal water flow through the heat pump, operate the valve (5) and the valves (7) until the water temperature increase (after passing through the heat pump exchanger) reaches 3°C (T Inlet - Inlet = ~3). The water inlet and outlet temperatures are shown on the unit display.

Connection of a swimming pool heat pump

4-year warranty as standard

PCWBi inverter heat pumps already come with a 4-year warranty as standard. They are the latest generation of equipment for this purpose, following the trend of using inverter compressors in heat pumps. Based on proven solutions, the current model does not require mandatory paid maintenance. This further reduces the long-term running costs of the unit significantly.

Touchscreen heat pump controller

Hewalex PCWBi-C inverter pool heat pumps are equipped with a colour LED touchscreen controller that allows us, among other things:

- setting the heating or cooling temperature

- setting the operating time

- possibility to set the "silent operation" mode

Aqua Temp application

All Hewalex pool heat pumps are equipped with a WI-FI module, so you can remotely change and control the unit's settings using the dedicated Aqua Temp app.
