Overview of pool heating technology
What you should start with when it comes to heating your pool is the answer to the question of how not to lose its heat. The most important element is covering the pool and this is where you need to start. This is why the basic measure is to buy bubble wrap or roller blinds, and if you have an outdoor pool, you can think about building a canopy.
A pool can be heated in a variety of ways. The most popular are three: a heat exchanger, a pool pump and an electric heater. It is important to use dedicated equipment and install it after consulting specialists. The pool heater should be "plugged in" to the water supply system, after the filter and the pool pump.
Using a heat pump is one of the most efficient ways of heating a swimming pool. The relatively low investment and operating costs speak for choosing this solution. In our opinion, this is the optimal solution, which we use in our projects. This method is gaining in popularity in Poland and other countries.
A heat pump is an electrical device that uses air temperature to heat water. It does this via a titanium exchanger that is located inside it. Atmospheric air is used to extract the heat and transfer it to the pool water.

This solution is most commonly used for indoor pools. A pool heat exchanger connected to the domestic central heating system heats the water inside the pool. In addition, the installation is equipped with a temperature sensor and thermostat. These are responsible for maintaining the desired temperature.
With this type of heating, it is necessary to carefully select the right exchanger and the power of the central heating furnace. Although this solution is very convenient, it is not one of the cheapest to operate. Additionally, it is worth supplementing it with a pool heat pump.

Using electric heaters to heat water is an inexpensive solution to purchase, but very expensive to maintain and operate. Therefore, we do not recommend this solution. An electric heater allows water to be heated quickly, however, from the perspective of our wallet, any rational justification for the purchase can only be made for very small pools or spa baths.

On some websites you can still read about solar thermal collectors for heating swimming pool water. We don't particularly focus on them, as in our opinion this is a rather outdated and inefficient technology. Its advantage is the use of solar energy and air temperature, which is probably a hot topic these days.
