Its operation is based on the principle of converting heat energy from one medium to another using a small amount of electricity. As a result, even on colder days, the heat pump is able to heat the water efficiently, keeping it at the optimum temperature for swimming.

Poolsystem PCP inverter pool heat pumps are equipped with a touchscreen controller.  This is an intuitive and advanced tool that provides users with easy control of the unit.

It allows users to adjust the water temperature, set the operating schedule or monitor the unit's performance. The heat pump touchscreen controller is the perfect combination of convenience and functionality that makes using the heat pump a real pleasure.

Savings from heat pump heating

The electricity consumption of a heat pump heating pool water will be on average 5-6 times lower compared to an electric heater. With a pool heat pump COP efficiency of 6, only 1 kWh of electricity is consumed to generate 6 kWh of heat. For an average sized swimming pool with a capacity of 20 m³, we need to supply around 900 kWh of heat energy per summer month to maintain the required pool water temperature.

Connection of a swimming pool heat pump

In a hydronic system, the heat pump must be located between the filter and any pool water treatment unit. In addition, it must be connected on a bypass to regulate the flow through the heat pump. The water flow rate through the pool heat pump is regulated by a valve at the inlet to the unit and a valve on the bypass. The bypass valves are mandatory and serve to disconnect the heat pump from the system for cleaning the filter system and to drain the heat pump of water for the winter period.

In order to ensure optimum water flow through the heat pump, the valve (1) and the valves (2) must be operated until the water temperature increase (after passing through the heat pump exchanger) reaches 3°C (T inlet-inlet = ~3). The water inlet and outlet temperatures are shown on the unit display.

Control via the Smart Life app

All Poolsystem PCP pool heat pumps are equipped with a WI-FI module so that various parameters can be changed and controlled remotely, including

  • ON/OFF
  • setting the pool water temperature
  • information about the current operating mode of the heat pump
  • setting of the pump operating time

Winter cover included

With a view to protecting our heat pumps in the winter, a special winter cover has been included with each unit purchased .The main purpose of the winter cover is to ensure that the heat pump is protected from the negative effects of low temperatures and weather conditions, thus contributing to its longer service life and efficient operation.

Please note, however, that the unit must be completely drained before it is covered.
