Cleaning the pool after the season
When the summer is over and the temperature outside doesn't allow you to take a dip, you need to prepare for the winter and clean the pool after the season. A pool that is left to its own devices will cause a lot of problems when it comes to preparing it for the season, and may even make it impossible. Poorly prepared parts can get damaged, and this can cost us dearly. This is why you should start by draining your pool of water ...
... but not completely.
The first step when preparing the pool for the end of the season is to lower the water to a suitable level. It is accepted that the water line should be about 20 cm lower than the inflow jets. Water in sub-zero temperatures freezes and increases in volume. Therefore, the water level must be lowered so that the water does not burst the elements.
It is also important to dismantle all the necessary pool equipment, which can be damaged by low temperatures. Water should be drained from the filter, circulation pump and heat pump so that residue does not damage the equipment. The pool basin should be cleaned of all dirt to slow down the growth of micro-organisms.
The final step is to apply pool chemistry. First we regulate the pH of the water, then we top up with a winter treatment and possibly cover the pool.
