Description

Pool winterisation float

Floats are designed for the winterisation of outdoor swimming pools. They prevent stress from the ice and damage to the pool membrane or ceramics. Thanks to the use of a float, the ice does not form a lump which prevents the frost from breaking up the pool walls.

How to calculate the number of floats needed?

Depending on the method chosen for laying out the floats, the number needed is calculated differently. If you choose the 'around the pool' method, measure the perimeter of the pool and divide by 50. The result is the number of floats needed.

For the cross method, add the length and width of the pool, divide the total by 50. The result is the number of floats needed. For the third method, divide the length of the diagonal by the number 50.

Tips

Remember to lower the water level in the pool. Emptying the pool completely is a very bad move and we should not do it. The water in the soil is also subject to the freezing process. This also puts pressure on the pool walls

The water level should be lowered according to a universal rule of thumb - the water line should be less than 20 cm from the skimmer, jets or any other parts of the basin.
